Choquequirao mountain tour 4d/3n
Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Playa Rosalina
- Pick up in hotel at 5.45am en Cusco
- Bus to the little town of Cachora.
- 11 am we will start our 5 hour mountain walk. We then walk down the Apurimac Valley towards our camp site Playa Rosalina a (1540 m.).
- Dinner and camping for the first night
Day 2: Playa Rosalina – Choquequequirao
- Early breakfast at 5.20am y start of our trek (the most tiring of the tour) towards the mountain with the chance to observe variety of orchids, birds and plants.
- Arrival in Marampata and lunch.
- 30 hour walk towards the Inca archaeological city of Choquequirao (3035m) (Cuna de Oro). We will visit the small city and learn about it history. We will observe the condors in the late afternoon. We will have free time to explore around and visit ‘the llama place’.
- Return to the camp site and dinner.
Day 3: Marampata – Chikiska – Caca Mazana
- Breakfast and visit to the local families in Marapata.
- Lunch in the camp site of Chikiska.
- Return through the same itinerary through the Apurimac Canon
- Arrival at the camp site Coca Mazana where we will stay for the night.
Day 4: Coca Mazana – Cachora – Cusco
- Breakfast and start of new walk towards Cachora village where we will see the typical Andean plants. We will say goodbye to our donkey drivers.
- This is the last day of out trek, we will take a bus to go back to Cusco.
