Lost City Inca Trail 4d/3n

Inca trail, after 4 day walk, climbing and descending mountains, observing amazing views, and perfect stone constructions with a historical meaning, we will finally arrive to the ‘Sun Gate’ being able to see the majesty of Machu Picchu, beautiful, enigmatic, considered the lost city of the Incas. The aim of this trek is to feel this mystic atmosphere during the whole trek and the history linked to it that the tour guide will explain during the journey.

Day 1: CUSCO – PISKACUCHO – KM 82 – LLAQTAPATA – WAYLLABAMBA.

  • Our trek will start with the pick-up in hotel at the time established during the meeting the day before the tour starts.
  • Private 2 hour bus to Ollantaytambo, and breakfast and time for some shopping.
  • Start of trek for 1:30 hour the highest peak of our trek, KM 82, we will meet the team who will come with us for 4 days.
  • Our passport will get officially checked before starting the Inca trail.
  • Mountain walk through typical plants and amazing view of the Sacred Valley, rivers and mountains.
  • 2 hour trek to the first Inca village: LLactapata.
  • 30 minute walk towards Taray, where we will rest and have buffet lunch with typical Peruvian products.
  • Trek along a valley where we can observe native flowers and surrounded by the amazing view of the mountains.
  • 4 hour walk towards the firs camp site (Wayllabamba), little village on the mountains.
  • Prepare the tents to spend the night here.
  • Welcome tea to help us to acclimatize and ‘happy hour’ with pop-corn, biscuits and hot drinks.
  • Dinner consisting of typical Peruvian products.
  • Camping for the night.

Day 2: WAYLLABAMBA – LLULLUCHAYOQ – PASO WARMIWAÑUSCA –  PACAYMAYO.

  • Breakfast with cereals and water will be provided for the trek.
  • The trek starts climbing up admiring the amazing of plants and animals, flowers y beautiful sun rise.
  • 1 hour walk along the Ayapata Valley, we will rest for a while before starting walking up again. This is the most challenging day because we will need to walk up for some time until we reach the highest point: Abra de Warmiwañusca.
  • Walk to Llullucha Pampa, where we will have some rest and an amazing view of the whole trail where we were climbing up earlier..
  • 3/4 hour walk – we will get to the highest point (Abra de Warmiwañusca 4200 metros)
  • Time to take photos (and group photo) and start of a new walk descending for 3 hours towards our camp site.
  • Arrival at Pacasmayo, where we will have buffet lunch and will have our camp site.
  • Tea y happy hour in the afternoon.
  • Dinner and meeting with the tour guide who will explain about the history of the place and about the plan for the day after.
  • Camping

Day 3: PACAYMAYO – SAYAQMARKA – CHAKICOCHA – PHUYUPATAMARKA-  WIÑAYWAYNA

  • Breakfast with eggs and cereals.
  • The trek starts at 7 am
  • Arrival at Runkuracay,, known as ‘tambo Inca’, circular ruins which was a resting station for Chaskis (agile runners who delivered messages, royal delicacies, and other objects throughout the Inca Empire) rested. during their journeys.
  • We will continue walking towards Sayacmarca (3950 m) and visit its archaeological Inca site.
  • Will continue our walk for 1 hour towards Chaquicocha, where we will have lunch and rest shortly.
  • We will then walk observing the variety of plants typical of this area and arrive in Phuyupatamarca (village over the clouds), we will walk for 3 hours towards our camo site.
  • 5pm pm arrival in Wiñaywayna, where we will have dinner and rest.
  • After talking to the tour guide about the itinerary for the following day, we will say goodbye to the team who stayed with us: chef, porters.
  • Camping

Day 4: WIÑAYWAYNA- INTUPINKU – MACHUPICCHU -CUSCO.

  • Day 4 is a special day. We will wake up very early.
  • Breakfast and walk until we get to the area where we need to pass the control point to Machu Picchu.
  • 2 horas walk to get to ‘The Sun Gate (intipunku), place form where we can observe the whole Machu Picchu and the Andes.
  • Time to take group photos.
  • From the control point.
  • Tour with guide inside Machu Picchu for 2 hours, visiting the most important places: The Sun Gate, Solar Clock, Temple of the 3 windows, Condor Temple.
  • Free time to take pictures and visit Machu Picchu.
  • We will visit the village of Aguas Calientes and have lunch together .
  • 30 pm Return train to Ollantaytambo, where we will get a transfer bus to Cusco.
  • In Cusco, our bus will take you to your hotel.
  • End of tour.
